Happy Release Day!

As promised on Tumblr, I decided to publish the first half of Party At Room 313 which includes Tapes 1 and 2. As some of you already know, this project was initially intended as a game submission from last August's Single Choice Jam 2023, but I missed the deadline following a scheduling conflict. Although I started writing a script just as the game jam started, I didn't like where the initial idea was heading, so I ran a poll asking some of you if it was better for me to start over with an old plot I had been brewing from ages ago. The Party At Room 313 was the result of that. 

Although the original plot featured a male neighbour inviting you over to a family dinner in some unspecified city in Lunar Isle, I ultimately decided to set the story in Caligo Hills instead with the new character, Charlotte. Ryan, on the other hand, is a particular case, as he somehow found a way to wedge into the narrative as I was writing the story. He was supposed to be mentioned offhandedly as a tribute to the original neighbour, but oh well. 

In any case, the full story shouldn't be that far off. I simply need a break from the project for a bit, until I can recuperate my creative fuel. The full script currently is around 4,230 words, with only the closing scene and the different branches for the ending missing.

It's not perfect nor polished, and that's perfectly okay. There's beauty that can be found in the mess, too.
